Finished at last

I've finally finished Tim's tags and with a whole day to spare.
Tag 11
It took 3 goes to get this tag, which I think is ok but not 100% happy with this one.
Tag 12
When I first saw this one I didn't think I would even attempt it. After i had read the instructions again I thought why not and I just loved this one. The tissue bg looks fantastic and was so easy to do. I had a go at his tissue flower but it didn't suit as well as this Kaiser one and the rest of it came together so easily.

Well now I have finished I am so glad that I joined in with this and completed all the tags. I have learn t a lot, acquired some more Tim Holtz products, which is never a bad thing, and had a lot of fun along the way. Yes!!! I would do it again next year.

It's my baby's 18th birthday tomorrow so I had better go and make her a card and get everything else ready :)

Merry Xmas

I hope you all had a wonderful Xmas and are having a lovely relaxing time doing all the things you want to do. My Xmas was very enjoyable and relaxing. I was very lucky to receive my first SLR camera. Very excited!!! and a little daunted, there is so much to learn.
I have been working on Tim's tags and have some more to share.
Tag 7.
I struggled with this one. Couldn't get the background right and ended up using patterned paper. I t looks ok but is a bit boring.
Tag 8
Loved doing this one. Tim called this "steam punk' which I thought he was referring to a range of his products. When I showed my daughter, who is very arty, She said " this is almost steam punk". lol
Tag 9
I enjoyed doing this one as well. Who knew you could stamp and emboss then ink the rest of the bg and emboss that as well. Will definitely have to use this technique again.
Tag 10
I had so much fun doing this tag. I cheated a bit as I didn't have any prisms so i used glossy accents. Loved the way this one turned out.

Only 2 more to go and 4 days to do them.
PS I took these photos with my new camera. Do you think they look any better?

Tag 6

I must admit that I really did not like this tag when Tim put it up. Now I have finished mine I really quite like it. Once again I didn't have any of the products that Tim used and for the first time I had to buy something ( A Xmas embossing folder ) to be able to make this.
I used alfoil and Jo Sonya paints. It was fun painting and sanding and I was surprised how easy it was and how well it turned out.
I am 1/2 way now and I am feeling quite proud of myself  lol !!!!!

Days 4 & 5

It's taken a lot of thinking and improvising to make these 2 tags. In Australia it doesn't snow at Xmas so I tend not use any snowmen or snowflakes on my Xmas scrapping so I have gone with baubles. I liked the idea of a blue background so I experimented with inks and glimmer mists and came up with this
Day 5
I loved Tim's technique today but I don't have any of the products he used. So I stamped and embossed with white embossing powder on red card stock, then added acetate. I really like this one and am very pleased with the way it turned out. I think this is my favorite so far.
Hope to get some more done this weekend, but life has a habit of getting in the way. I start my holidays at the end of this week so hope to get stuck into it then.

Day 3

I am a little bit behind in these. Just as well we have a bit of time to do them. I am loving all of the different techniques that Tim is showing us.

This tag took a bit of thinking as I didn't have anything that Tim used. I ended up using some of my Xmas stamps and embossing with embossing powder then inking the background and using some glimmer mist.

The photo doesn't do the tag justice and I am quite happy with the result.

Thank you to all the people visiting my blog. I hope to catch up a bit with these this weekend

12 tags of Xmas

Every year Tim Holtz does 12 Xmas Tags in the first 12 days of December. He designs a tag and posts in on his blog with all the instructions. Then you can make your own version of it and post in on his blog. This year I thought it might be fun to join in. So here is my interpretation of Day 1
It is a little different to Tim's but I managed to use a lot of his techniques.
Day 2 was a lot harder as I had very little of what Tim used.If you want to check out Tim's blog its on my side bar. Hopefully I will be back tomorrow with Day 3
